Darlene Sveinson
Lead Off Ice Trainer
Darlene has been a Fitness Leader and Trainer for the past 28 years, during which time she received her Bachelor of Education/Physical Education, certified as a Manitoba Group Fitness Leader, attained over 400 certification hours in Yoga Teacher Training, certified as a coach through the Canadian Hockey Initiation Program and Canadian Hockey Inline Level 1 coaching program. She currently acts as the Health and Wellness Coordinator/Strength & Conditioning Trainer/Yoga Instructor for the Balmoral Hall Blazer Hockey Program. She implemented the Max Hockey Off-Ice Fitness & Conditioning Program in 2007. Darlene utilizes hockey-specific training techniques to push participants to a higher level of athleticism while developing speed, power, agility and improved on-ice performance. She has trained male and female hockey players from novice to Midget AAA and High School. Her vast experience with training youth has assisted with the development of a high level fitness program that focuses on preparing athletes for pre-season training camps and fall tryouts.
In addition to her work with hockey-specific training, Darlene teaches Physical Education at Balmoral Hall School, instructs Yoga at the Yoga Centre Winnipeg, Moksha Yoga Winnipeg and Strategym Personal Training Gym, is a presenter at educational and fitness conferences, operates BladeRunners small-group off-season personal training for hockey players, volunteer trains the Chemo Savvy Dragon Boat Teams and has recently accepted an Ambassador Position with Lululemon Winnipeg.
